Irregular Self-Finishing Class - September 15, 2026

Join us for Lita the Nashville Needlepointer's irregular self-finishing class!

Ornaments must be 5x5 inches or smaller.

Students should be comfortable finishing square ornaments, finishing round ornaments, making cording, and sewing cording on.

Please complete the following prep work to ensure you can finish in the allotted amount of time:

1) Make your cording ahead of time. To ensure your cording is long enough, loosely lay your strand around your stitching 3 times. Unwind and measure all additional strands to the same length. Once you measure, please count out strands following the chart below and knot both ends of each group of colors. Perle cotton size 5, DMC floss (unstranded),

• 1 color: 3 groups of 5 strands
• 2 colors: 4 groups of 4 strands (two groups of each color)
• 3 colors: 3 groups of 5 strands
• 4 colors: 4 groups of 4 strands

2) If you do not have the tools to make cording, Village Needleworks has Lacis corders for sale.

3) Please email a picture of your piece to Lita at Lita@nashvilleneedlepointer.com for guidance ahead of time. She will review the piece to ensure it is beginner friendly as well as advise if extra rows are needed.  

4) The following pieces are NOT recommended for this class as they are not beginner friendly, but you will learn the skills to finish them on your own:

• Danji Candy Canes
• Painted Pony Angels
